Gyanesh Kumar 

Gyanesh Kumar, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India, has been invited to deliver the opening keynote address at the International IDEA Conference on Electoral Integrity in Stockholm. 

  • Shri Gyanesh Kumar became the 26th Chief Election Commissioner of India on 19th February 2025. 
  • He is a 1988 batch IAS officer from the Kerala cadre. 
  • He holds a B.Tech from IIT Kanpur and has studied Business Finance (ICFAI) and Environmental Economics (Harvard University). 

 

Maxime Prevot 

 

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar began his visit to Belgium with a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and combating terrorism. 

  • Maxime Prévot, born in 1978, holds degrees in political science and ICT law from Louvain and Namur. 
  • He started as a PwC consultant and entered politics early, becoming Mayor of Namur in 2012. 
  • He served as a federal MP, Walloon minister, and Vice President of the Walloon Government. 
  • In 2017, he resigned as VP to return as Mayor and rejoined the Walloon Parliament.

Bill Alkinson 

 

Bill Atkinson, the pioneering engineer behind Apple's early graphical user interfaces, passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 74. 

  • Bill Atkinson was a key Apple engineer who developed the graphical user interfaces for the Lisa and Macintosh computers. 
  • He created QuickDraw and HyperCard, which influenced early internet concepts and user-friendly computing.
