Why in News?

The Union Cabinet approved the "Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY)", aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and promoting the adoption of sustainable farming practices across the country.

About PM Dhand-Dhaanya Krishi Yojna

• Announcement: The Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana is a transformative agricultural initiative, officially announced by the Finance Minister in the Union Budget 2025–26. 
• Objective: The main goal is to boost rural livelihoods and make migration a choice. 
• Target Regions: The scheme aims to support farmers in 100 districts that face agricultural challenges such as low crop yields and limited access to financial aid. 
• Modelled on ADP: The scheme is inspired by the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP), launched in 2018 and will follow a similar approach to drive development in selected regions.
