Why in News? 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Cyprus on June 15 as part of his three-nation tour, which includes attending the G7 Summit in Canada and an official visit to Croatia.

    • Flora: Cyprus is known for its pine forests, cedars, oak trees, and wildflowers like tulips and orchids. 
    • Fauna: Includes the Cyprus mouflon (wild sheep, endemic), foxes, reptiles, and over 380 bird species (migratory hub). 
    • The island is also rich in marine life like sea turtles, monk seals, and various Mediterranean fish species.
