Dommaraju Gukesh 

 

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has congratulated Dommaraju Gukesh for his first-ever win against Magnus Carlsen in Round 6 of Norway Chess 2025. 

  • Dommaraju Gukesh became the second-youngest Grandmaster at 12 years and won the 2024 Candidates Tournament. 
  • From Chennai, he is India’s top-rated player since 2023, surpassing Anand. 
  • He has set multiple records and won major international titles early in his career. 

 

Angela Eagle 

Recently, the U.K. Home Minister visited New Delhi and Chennai to discuss border security and immigration with Indian officials. Her office reported a 45% rise in detained Indian nationals last year.

Airlines’ global profit is expected to rise to $36 billion in 2025 amid supply chain challenges, with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) urging protection of airspace from trade wars during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in India after 42 years.
