• World Book and Copyright Day is annually observed on 23^rd April.
• The objective of the Day is to encourage people, especially children and youth, to cultivate a love for reading.
• The theme for the day 2024 is Read Your Way.

Rashtriya Raksha University signs MoU with French Starburst Aerospace

• Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gandhinagar and Starburst Aerospace of France have signed a significant memorandum of understanding (MoU).
• The MoU aimed at advancing innovation in aerospace, defence, and homeland security.
• It includes the creation of a venture capital fund of 100 million euros for aerospace, defence and security technology and provides export promotion support for Indian start-ups to explore international markets.

D. Gukesh Won 2024 FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament

• D. Gukesh from Chennai won 2024 FIDE candidates chess tournament in Toronto, Canada.
• He defeated American Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura.
• He became the youngest World Championship challenger and the only Indian after Viswanathan Anand to win the tournament.

Naima Khatoon Becomes 1^st Woman Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University

• Naima Khatoon has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and became first woman to hold the top post.
• She has been serving as principal of AMU’s women’s college since 2014.
